I found a solution online, and tried that, it didn't work, consolekit is installed, my username rick is in storage group, I've also added autofs to Daemons, it loads, but it throws an error when you put that in the modules, says fatal, module not found. I am still struggling with mounting here.. I trie this solution https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=111974 still did not work. Now I do not know what to do.

No, . Still saying same thing, . I installed Gnome, maybe that tip you showed is just for gnome, so I'm going to switch to Gnome, to see if it is solved.

You have posted an error message, but you have not included the command or action that produces that error message. This is an essential detail for anyone who is considering helping you.

You aren't authorized by consolekit (use ck-list-sessions to confirm it). You can find solutions by searching 'consolekit' here or on the wiki. There are lots of things that could be wrong and you haven't given much info, but it's likely you just need `exec ck-launch-session wm` instead of `exec wm` in xinitrc. If you're using a display manager, that could also be what's causing the problem (afaik, SLIM doesn't work with consolekit atm).

Nah, I'm not, I'm just using startx from terminal, but now since you mentioned something about ck-launch, I do recall seeing something like that on the wiki, but it wasn't for ck-launch, can't recall the name of the file.. But thanks, I'll look up consolekit on the forums, .

Nah, I don't.. I mine as well just use a WM and see if that fixes it, =/.

WM = Window Manager.

LOL, yes I know.. I'd be using KDM

KDM is a login manager, not a WM. Let's not extend this much further.. Install consolekit if you don't already have it installed and add "exec ck-launch-session startkde" for example if you are using KDE, to your ~/.xinitrc.

Sorry, I got 'em mixed around.. I use kwin I guess.. And I do have consolekit installed. The "exec ck-launch-session startkde" Do I still keep the exec /usr/bin/startkde in it as well?

You need to make an effort to help yourself - like reading the KDE wiki page.
You also have not included a full description of your issue, as I already mentioned. An error message on its own is pointless, So once again:
What command or action produces that error message?

When in KDE itself, I go to mount it, at the bottom of the window for devices, it gives that error message I put as title, I haven't tried what the person said yet.. I will here shortly, . LIke I stated earlier, I can be in root on KDE and it'll mount perfectly fine, when I go to mount on rick, that's when it throws that error message, as described in title.. I did what the first person in the post said, still same results, I didn't know to add exec ck-launcu-session startkde to .xinitrc, now since I know that, I can give that a try, .

Where to start....
"I go to mount it" .... mount what?
"LIke I stated earlier, I can be in root on KDE and it'll mount perfectly fine, when I go to mount on rick, that's when it throws that error message" .... You did not state that earlier in this thread, and I sincerely hope you are not expecting people, who are giving their time to help you, to go searching for your previous threads.
"I didn't know to add exec ck-launcu-session startkde to .xinitrc" .... because you didn't read the relevant wiki page before coming here.
Bottom line: get this thread in order, or it will be closed, just like your earlier ones.

"exec ck-launch-session startkde" When I put that in .xinitrc, it said command not found, no such file or directory, I have consolekit installed, I use kwin as the Window Manager.. Seeing you stated exec ck-launch-session startkde didn't work, not sure what to do now..

Ok, Tom, you can close this post , . It's now working, using exec ck-launch-session startkde, at first I tried it using " ", and it didnt work, I removed them, the person who helped didn't specify if I needed quotes or not, so I went and tried it differently, . Thanks !
