Remove a pkg,and leave dependencies(SOLVED)

I was testing the speed difference between powerpill and pacman and accdientlly installed gnome.I can't uninstall gnome because compiz-decorator-gtk requires gnome-control-center.Is there anyway to remove gnome by bypassing the dependency that compiz uses?
Thx

man pacman

Your question indicates you do not know what 'gnome' is. Hint: its a group.

sudo pacman -Rsu gnome seems to work but is there a better way to remove a group that i overlooked?
