[SOLVED] Linux with GTK2 (Gnome) on small screens

I have a laptop with 1024x768 maximum resolution, and I tried hard to google a way to make gnome widgets and icons smaller.

This is a tip from user VCoolio from #archlinux IRC channel who pointed out two links where this topic is solved:

For firefox I just use Foxdie theme and so I can finally do some work on my lappy. If you have other methods or suggestions feel free to post them here.
