VLC 1.1.7-3 hangs up when try to open file or dir
VLC > Media > Open File
or
VLC > Media > Open Dir
makes VLC to just freeze. I deleted its config files and created them once again but that didn't help. How can I fix it?

Do a forum search. Solution is to stop using KDE.

I did a general Internet search and found nothing helpful...
Solution is to stop using KDE.
I don't use KDE, I use Gnome. Or you mean stop using Qt-based applications?

oh... this may a different bug than the one linked to then... interesting. Are you fully updated?
