util-linux Problems?

After a pacman -Syu I get:

:: util-linux and util-linux-ng are in conflict (linux32). Remove util-linux-ng? [y/N]

Anyone know what I can do here?  I read many other posts related to util-linux issues but all seemed to have been resolved.

Thanks,
Lee

Re: util-linux Problems?

I thought that the util-linux was outdated according to other posts.  The advice was to stay with the util-linux-ng?

Its important to note the dates on posts you read. In this case, the project was named util-linux, was renamed to util-linux-ng (whatever you found was probably written then) and has recently been renamed to util-linux.

Upstream changed the package name http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Util-linux

Wikipedia wrote:

util-linux (with lower case 'u') is a standard package of the Linux operating system. A fork, util-linux-ng—with ng meaning "next generation"—was created when development stalled, but this has now been renamed back to util-linux, and is the official version of the package.

Re: util-linux Problems?

The rule of thumb is: If you don't know what a package does or if you don't need the replaced package, replace the package. If some AUR packages rely on it, you'll know that and if you need that package for whatever reason you will also know that.
