Hi
my arch box has been randomly locking up the last couple of days, but hadnt got round to looking into it. today, i put a film on in vlc and as soon as it started to play, vlc zombied and wouldnt die or restart, so rebooted and the machine wouldnt boot, got an old fashioned crt tv on the box so couldnt read the output and it just stopped during boot so hard rebooted again and it came up to slim and stopped. so rebooted again in to cli, and startx manually, machine locked! hard rebooted again, stopped with output on screen during boot! grabbed an old lcd display to check the output and there is a kernal panic!!!! never seen this in the 6 years of using linux!!! getting Kernal Panic: Not syncing: fatal exemption during interupt.
er yeah, totally lost! any advice? thanks

Live CD and check logs? Are you up to date? If so, chroot into your install and do an -Syu
Best thing is logs though.
