Hi,
I have recently came back from my holidays and i finally got the time to ´customizing' my Arch,
this means also, upgrading any old packages and such...
When i got to update the alsa package, i was cut out of sound, so i got to looking everywhere in the forum and documentation to see what the problem was, i coulnd find the andswer although i found lots of information.
the actual problem was that at boot it sayd:
modprobe: cant find snd-via82xx module
About half an hour ago i got slocate database updated, then made a locate snd- then it came up with this:
[root@archcrow crow]# locate snd-via
/lib/modules/2.4.22/misc/snd-via82xx.o
As you see its in 2.4.22 when i actually have 2.4.21, then i remembered that the packages where built for the current kernel (as i use current repository)
the question is this, as i dont whant to do any stupid thing.
when i do
pacman -Sf kernelis this all? or what else should i do?
[/code][/b]

after updating the kernel you should run
liloso that you also boot the new kernel ![]()
The impossible missions are the only ones which succeed.
