DoomRl

I have installed DoomRL from AUR but it doesn't work. After I start it the xterm just goes blank and the message "ALSA write failed (unrecoverable): Input/output error". The no-sound file available from the game's page works so it is clearly a sound related problem. Any ideas?

Re: DoomRl

How does it behave on a tty? Are you running 32bit or 64bit?

Re: DoomRl

I am running 32bit with alsa and jack and I have all the dependencies installed. It runs fine with with GameMusic=false and GameSound=false in config.lua but if I change that it does not start. Can you play it with sound on your system?

Re: DoomRl

Just to clarify, only the no-sound version downloaded from the game's page works. The version installed form AUR does not work either way.

Re: DoomRl

It plays with sound, but it does not give me any music. It doesn't crash however. Did you try to reinstall the AUR version? There has been an update.

Re: DoomRl

Yes, I am using the latest version 0.9.9.2 . I think I'll have to play with no sound or music which it is not so bad or play in windows which is no good.
