[conky] IF question

hi to all

my conky show top process and sometimes process' name are too much long; this is aestetic, so i think to put an IF
to truncate too much long name, but i need help

someone can draft something

Why not use the "cut" command?

Well I mean something like this:

GPU ${execi 30 nvidia-settings -q "GPUCoreTemp" | grep 0.0 | cut -c 39-41} 

where you use "cut" to extract certain pieces from a line of standard output.
