HI guys i just installed Clementine and i really like it, but it requires all these gstreamer packages, and some of them are puling in gnome packages i really dont want on my system. Im on a low-package diet. Is there a way to get it working with alsa or any way in general without gstreamer?
Thansks..

To play vorbis and flac you need gstreamer base and the good plugins
You can strip pretty much everything else

Ok i got the good and good plugin packages installed. Also installed gstreamer-ffmpeg to get the alsa output setting in clementine. For some reason the sound is really low when i play with alsa, but when i switch to OSS its fine.
And i cant forward or go back to a point in the song, it just keeps playing.

I'm having the same issue. I'm trying to keep my system clean of gnome. I'm new to Arch and I love all you learn by going through the config files, I used to love gnome as a Ubuntu user, but now I find it hinders my attepts to manage evrything the way I want to!
I love clementine, but each time I install it it messes with my alsa sound (works with oss though) and I have found out the same happens to me whenever I install the glib library!!! gcron messed the sound becouse of glib. Anyone knows why this is?
Does anyone know a good media player that suports Ipod and that isn't gnome or KDE deppending?
Thanks a lot!!

Is it possible to build gstreamer0.10-good-plugins without gconf and libsoup-gnome depends? Whether it will work correctly?

I think my problem with glib and Alsa is that gnome uses pulseaudio, is there a way to configure gnome media players such as clementine, rythmbox, etc to use alsa instead of pulse? since I don't want to instal it that might be a solution.
