iPod Touch and KDE

Hello all,

I'm trying to get my iPod Touch to work with KDE. I'm succeeding pretty good I suppose, as I can already mount it with ifuse and sync it through Amarok. In order to achieve this, I have installed the following packages:

libplist libimobiledevice ifuse usbmuxd libgpod

There's just two more things that I'd like to achieve, namely to see my iPod in the Removable Devices section in the system tray and to see it in the list of mounted devices in Dolphin. I think these two are connected to one another, but I'm not sure. When I used Kubuntu (which I only used for two days, so didn't investige what packages it had installed for iPod support, sadly), this was implemented out of the box. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Oh and another note; in order for Amarok to see my iPod, I had to install hal. In the Wiki I read that hal is deprecated and that KDE4.6 doesn't really need it anymore, so I'd like to know if there's another way to achieve the same? (I had automounting external drives without hal already)

Thanks in advance!

Re: iPod Touch and KDE

Is it just me or have I been asking questions nobody knows? lol

I'll ask around the Kubuntu forums if anyone there knows.

Re: iPod Touch and KDE

have you hal running?

since a while, it isn't required to run kde, but a lot of soft still relies on it

Re: iPod Touch and KDE

Can you please explain better how did you do it? I'm trying with the same package, nothing works, ifuse didn't recognize it, don't know why.. Did you create a rule for udev as explained in the wiki? Did you install also kio_afc? The packages are from the repo or are they from aur?
thanks in advance..
