I've got X going but can't see what I type under twm (that's the very basic WM).
I remember vaguely that CRUX 2.7 had a similar problem a while ago.
Does anyone know how to fix that?

If your keyboard isn't working, it's likely a problem with the input driver. Usually, keyboard detection should be handled automatically. What files are located under /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d? There should be 10-evdev.conf, which is responsible for keyboard detection.

All ok - re-installed the lot, this time using xorg-server etc instead of xorg.
It works beautifully now.
