Gnome: epiphany and replacing metacity

HI, I just installed gnome and wonder, wheter I can replace metacity with a tiling window manager, like wmi or ion?
If I kill metacity and start wmi, wmi tries to hijack everything and hides the panel and random programs.

The other question I have is: Does anybody use epiphany with mouse gestures? - I can't get them to work. If I activate them in tools/extensions I can't configure them and there is no documentation for them.

don't know about others
openbox --replace is enough
try wmi -help or --help or man it

sawfish is an alternate WM for Gnome. However, I don't know if it's a tiling WM.

Re: Gnome: epiphany and replacing metacity

nice one, as it seems to be completely scriptable, I think at least I could try to implement a tiling window manager - I'll have much feetime after my a-level wink.
