I just did an update this morning, only to notice that my machine was running terrible. After some investigation i found the following process is killing my box:
fusermount -o -rw,nosuid,nodev,subtype=gvfs-fuse-daemon -- /home/user/.gvfsI have included my pacman log + a snippet of the error messages being spewed out into messages.log. I use a cobmination of thunar + gvfs + smbfs etc....
Has anyone come accross an issue like this?

Seems as though the culprit is gvfs. Can't really remove this as so much depends on it.

Same problem here. What I can add is, that it only happens running GNOME. I think this is because GNOME uses "gvfs", while FLUXBOX does not. And yes, it must have anything to do with new packages, I updated my system today, after two weeks of doing nothing... Who can help?

@ddazzy, im running openbox and its still happening. seems as though gconf is the problem. I rolled back to the previous kernel version and that has solved it for now. However i have 4 arch linux systems all running pretty much the same configuration, yet only one of them has this problem.

@passbe: Yeah, I like the internet! Thx for your fast reply. Downgrading to version "kernel26 2.6.37.2-1" did it for me as well. Great.

I tried the latest kernel revision, 2.6.37.5-1, still no joy. fusermount kills me at 100%. and before i know it the log files are already 5gig+
