Hi,
I've got a problem with my Arch flashdisk. When I start xorg, my mouse cursor keeps moving left until it reaches the edge of the screen, where it stops. I checked the connector, etc., but it didn't help, so I guess it's software-related. What can be causing the problem?

You may need to install drivers -- that's what I've experienced any time with any distro freshly set up. In my case it was the matter of adding Synaptics drivers. In yours it may be -- I can't tell for sure because I always had primitive external mice that did well with default input modules -- missing xf86-input-mouse. Check it out, maybe it helps. (BTW, what mouse are you using? If you run dmesg, or look into Xorg.0.log, can you seen any errors?)

The problem is that the mouse works OK with a basic installation of Arch I have on my harddrive - just with the evdev drivers. I'll check for errors, that's a good idea. Ad BTW: It's a 10 years old optical Logitech, just two buttons and a wheel with third button - nothing special.
Edit: Oh my... Now I've got it! It's the badly callibrated joystick that is also connected...

Yeah, my HP has an accelerometer package that is set up to act like a joystick. Keeping the cursor from moving was like balancing a broom on the palm of your hand
