mythtv problems creating database tables...

Hiya,

I'm just installing the latest mythtv - I have everything updated on my system including mysql. I install mysql as per the wiki, I create the database and give access to mythtv:mythtv...

I run mythbackend, and after a page and a half of 'table does not exist' errors it seems to hang indefinitely on updating schema. I check with mysql and no tables have been created.

I then run mythtv-setup, and this time it segfaults.

Is this a bug with mysql or mythtv? Has anybody had any similar experiences? Unfortunately i dont have an old mythconverg.sql backup lying around to throw at it.

Cheers,

John

Hi. I had the same problem and didn't find any solution, so I switch to Freevo.

Re: mythtv problems creating database tables...

We have had an error in the MythTV HOWTO since December. If you used it since then to create the database, then you will get the "table does not exist" error.

I have updated the wiki - if you start with a completely fresh mysql now it will work. If you don't want to start your database over, you will need to modify the privileges of your mysql mythtv user.
