My sound card appears in alsamixer and with lsmod|grep snd

snd_seq_device 5100 3 snd_seq_dummy,snd_seq_oss,snd_seq
snd_hda_codec_idt 55117 1
snd_pcm_oss 37890 0

snd_timer 18992 2 snd_seq,snd_pcm
snd 55132 15 snd_seq_oss,snd_seq,snd_seq_device,snd_hda_codec_idt,snd_pcm_oss,snd_mixer_oss,snd_hda_intel,snd_hda_codec,snd_hwdep,snd_pcm,snd_timer
soundcore 5986 1 snd

If anyone has an ideal it would be cool...

I have to admit I'm a bit annoyed that Pulse Audio has to be installed to use Gnome 3... That was the main thing that drove me away from ubuntu. I've ran my Arch machines for over a year with no pulse, and I really don't see the use for it. This is the one thing that is making me consider not using Gnome 3.

How did you fix it exactly? My audio was working fine, but now after a reboot I don't have any sound anymore. All I get are random pops. I've done everything in the PulseAudio arch wiki, and I've run out of ideas to be honest.

... and it's working again now. This seems to be completely random, because I needed several reboots to get it working again.

... and it's gone again. This is pretty retarded

Have a look at your card model. It can appear that you need special options in /etc/modprobe.d/alsa.conf such as
options snd-hda-intel model=some_model
Have a look exactly at your card model and browse on the net which model= fits the best.

I fixed this problem by modifying the setting on System Tools/System Settings/Sound/Output
Hello&Thanks
