Hi, I just installed KDE 4.6 (had been using openbox - sound worked fine) and now all I've got are system sounds (startup / shutdown etc.). I'm getting this error when I run Amarok "The audio device ATI HDA SB (ALC268 Analog) does not work. Falling back to ."
I suspect a kernel update, as I haven't used Arch in at least 6 months and ran #pacman -Syu before I installed KDE. I know there are lots of posts about this and I've been wading through them but haven't found any solutions yet. I triple boot this laptop with FreeBSD and Debian and haven't had any problems with sound in either.
My ALSA levels are all unmuted, I looked on the Arch wiki and followed the steps on the ALSA page and blacklisted snd_intel8x0m in rc.conf as well.
I also ran #alsaconf , but still no luck
Does anybody have any suggestions?
Please let me know if any additional info would help.
Thanks in advance

Yeah, I think we're fucked.

Or not... If anyone was following this, I removed ~/.asoundrc and I have sound again.
This post on the Gentoo forums was pretty informative
