Hi there,
I have an Acer TimelineX 4820T and I'd like to run Arch Linux on it. I've read around that there are some issues with this laptop... in particular some old kernels can't get the ethernet card to work. As the arch netinstaller uses an old kernel, how am I supposed to install and update Arch Linux?
On top of that my wireless card is a Broadcom BCM43xx and I don't think it will work out of the box with the netinstaller (I think it needs a propetary driver).
Any suggestion is welcome :-)

I'd try installing arch from a live CD (Ubuntu, Mint, OpenSuse) in a chroot environment. It's explained here in the wiki.

You could still try using the netinstaller if the ethernet card isn't recognized then I'd try the above solution.
