Hi!! I have a mid 2010 Macbook Pro, and I can't wait to have some final exams handed over to have time to install arch. But in the meanwhile I was wondering,
1- does anyone has a MPB and is using ArchLinux everyday?
2- What about heat? MBP runs real hot in Windows (and oh-my-god-that's-cool in OSX), so, how does it run linux?
3- mmm.. and battery life? fans?
Oh.. so many questions, I'm sorry
thanks a lot!!

I believe Allan has a MBP, think he mentioned it somewhere before.

I do...
I have the 13" 5.5 model (so a bit older than yours). There are plenty of posts around here about setting it up so you should not have too many issues.
Heat - not too bad. I wrote my own fan control as I did not like the default control (http://allanmcrae.com/2010/05/simple-ma … an-daemon/), but I am unsure how much that is needed.... Battery life is OK. I have done not much more than some cpu scaling and get ~3-4 hours with actual usage (e.g. watching movies). Lots more can be done if you want to save battery power but Ihave not set any of that up.

Have you read over the wiki on Macbooks?

Thank you guys!
Yes, I have read the wiki about Macbooks
I tried to install Arch, but had a couple of issues (this is the first time I try to install arch on a macbook, but I'm a long time Arch user), I'll try a little harder and then I'll post some questions if I can't make it work.
thanks!
