After a recent update to two machines, only one of them survived with respect to pm-utils.
I can't suspend my W510 Thinkpad any longer. I made sure I was in the `power` group, named a UUID in my grub menu, and made sure the small fixes covered in the pm-utils archwiki were actually implemented.
I'm sort of at a loss. No errors are reported in suspend.log. Everything appears to shut off except the screen, which stays on, and the little sleep symbol continues to flash.
Suggestions?

downgrade the kernel and test again.
might be kernel-related, and more likely gpu related.

Hello, I have exactly the same issues with my W510, have you found a solution?

Fixed! The ThinkWiki certainly helped: http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Category:W510.
In particular, I suggest trying some of the workarounds like putting `xhci_hcd` in `SUSPEND_MODULES`, and putting ` acpi_sleep=sci_force_enable` on your kernel line in menu.lst (if you're using grub). Apparently, xhci_hcd is a giant problem for thinkpad users right now.
If you're really stuck, try this out: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingKernelSuspend. You'll have to do the Ubuntu -> Arch translation yourself, but it's worth a shot.
Very frustrating, I know.

I did everything of that already except for the modifyied kernel line. As I am using Grub I will try this one and report back if that fixed it for me. Strange that I did not notice that fix, as I was well aware of that page and thought I had done everything.
