Problem with libusb

Hi,

I am new to Arch & so I don't yet have very much experience.

I am trying to use JPilot (which, I think, uses pilot-tools) to talks to an old palm pilot.

When I try to sync I get the following error:
libusb couldn't open USB device /dev/bus/usb/003/004: Permission denied.
libusb requires write access to USB device nodes.

The usb device in question is different each time.  I think the device is not assigned until I press the hotsync button on the device.

Is there some way to fix the permissions for usb devices?  I presume I will have similar problems connecting other usb devices.

I have searched the forum (and the wiki) and some people have mentioned libusb-compat but I can't find this on AUR.

Any ideas?

Re: Problem with libusb

While I don't know anything about palm and syncing, I can tell you libusb-compat is in core and multilib (as lib32-lib-...).

Re: Problem with libusb

fsckd: You are right.  In fact, I have libusb-compat so that does not seem to be the solution I am looking for.
