vmlinuzeee doesn't recognise root on USB-stick

When I boot the standard kernel from my USB-stick, no problem (had to follow the procedure to get USB-support
going as in the documentation). vmlinuzeee, however, doesn't have an init-file to manipulate.

Is there any way to get it going? vmlinuzeee only recognises the 4 Xandros-partitions on the EeePC, but
none of them can be used as root.

Tom.
