With Xorg 1.9 vesa doesn't work.

Sorry for the late reply... First of all you should know that there is an official thread about poulsbo here and it's best to write any problems in that thread so we can have them all together. I am the maintainer of the driver in that repo and if you haven't yet figured it out see here.
