Fn+F8 does not work, switch output to external beamer VGA

I need your help guys (and girls)!

Tomorrow i'm giving a presentation to the members of the board at the company I work.

Specs:

Hardware: EEE 1201NL
Os: Arch linux 32 bit (according to wiki page EEE 1201NL)
Software: Libre office 3.3.2 / acpi-eeepc-generic
DE: Gnome

The problem: Beamer is connected via standard VGA cable. When I push Fn+F8 nothing happens (:
Expected behaviour: When Fn+F8 is pressed, output is sent to external beamer connected via standard VGA

I already tried this solution suggested: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=39840. Sadly it doesn't work for me.

Any help is appreciated.

Use xrandr.

After installing and configuring acpi-eeepc-generic package from AUR on my eee 1001P it just works for me
