How do I open archiso.img file in install disk?

Hi,

I want to check out what is going on inside archiso.img (this is the initrd used. right?) file in the arch linux install disk, however I can't figure out thhe way to open it.  Tried gzip, bzip and mounting as squashfs but none work. Anyone knows how to do this? And also, is there a way to remake that file after modifing it. I am not saying I will modify but just in case I would.

Yo Dawg, I heard you likes patches, so I have created a patch for your patch, so you can patch your patches before you patch.

Re: How do I open archiso.img file in install disk?

I think that link you gave is outdated. I don't have isolinux/initrd.img, instead I have archiso.img. And my file cannot be gunzipped since it is not in gzip format. That is what gunzip says

It's in .xz format. Rename initrd.iso to initrd.xz
