OK, can anybody at least say: "I don't use any DE, just this WM and evince are installed, and I can print images from evince without problems"?

I use evince only for pdf's, but just tried with a png and print is greyed out here as well (full gnome).

Aha... Thanks for the information! I can not imagine default gnome file viewer isn't intended to print images. What do you think?

In fact I'll be happy with any other DE-neutral image viewer with decent printing capabilities (rotate, scale, ...). Can anybody suggest one?

I know this is a relatively old thread but it's the closest.
I use evince and I can't view png and print with evince. Anyone knows how to enable the backends for evince. svg,png.
