After Kernel Update (2.6.38.3-1) mouse is not working anymore

I updated the kernel to version 2.6.38.3-1 via pacman. Since then my usb mouse (Logitech G500) is not working anymore.

lsusb recognizes the mouse as connected, but it does not show up on "xinput list".

How can I track down the problem to its source?

Hello,

Probably related to udev 167.
See this post and my bug report : https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=117274

No, it is something different. Unplugging and reconnecting the mouse does not help. The udev downgrade also has no effect.

This has happened to me a few times. Try re-installing xf86-input-evdev

There is no system but GNU and Linux is one of its kernels.

Ok. Fortunately my package cache is big enough and I downgraded my kernel, and now everything is working again…
