Logitech MX Revolution sometimes produces double clicks

Hi,

I've got a MX Revolution cordless mouse, which since about two weeks ago produces double-clicks (even if only clicked once).

After a short test with "xev", it seems as if the hardware only produces one single press and release event (but I can't tell totally for sure, because those double-clicks do not happen all the time :| )

ButtonPress event, serial 34, synthetic NO, window 0x2c00001,
    root 0x15a, subw 0x0, time 2204447, (38,130), root:(1287,174),
    state 0x10, button 1, same_screen YES

ButtonRelease event, serial 34, synthetic NO, window 0x2c00001,
    root 0x15a, subw 0x0, time 2204532, (38,130), root:(1287,174),
    state 0x110, button 1, same_screen YES

My desktop environment is Xfce, no xorg.conf, system is up to date.

Strange thing: the same happens to a friend of mine, same mouse, same desktop (though with xmonad instead of xfwm o/ )

Does anyone out there have any idea why this is happening?

best regards

How old is the mouse?  When it happened to my last mouse, a Logitech G7, it meant the mouse was done.

It's about three to four years old, but I don't think it's a hardware thing, because this happens to two people with the same hardware and nearly the same software at the same time.

I have no experience with that particular mouse, but I vote for a hardware problem too. Try with Windows and/or on another computer to be sure...
