OpenArena doesn't work, just a black.

I got OpenArena by pacman.
when I start it, the screen turn into black and nothing display. I think I have my video card driver installed successfully because the Compiz works well. Maybe I should wait for longer.
Any help? Thank you all very much.

Have you tried turning compiz off?

Does "Select Mecacity Windows Manager" means "Turn Compiz off"? If so, I did, but nothing changed..

EDIT: It doesn't work after turnning Compiz off, and everything goes well under Compiz on Ubuntu.
