Can gDesklet behavior be modified this way...?

Is there any way to make the desklets act like the GNOME bar or certain Superkaramba desklets, i.e. make them block the movement of windows so that they don't overlap anything, and nothing can overlap them? An adjustment like that would make certain desklets much more usable.
