Posting Guidelines

· DO NOT post full resolution screenshots! You can use the "mogrify" command (pacman -S imagemagick) to make a thumbnail of your screenshot:

$ cp screenie.png thumb-screenie.png
$ mogrify -resize 250x250 thumb-screenie.png

Sizes Twenty percent of the original size is great for 1024x768 screenies. For bigger sizes (and especially for multi-monitor setups), we ask you to keep in mind not everyone uses broadband, and use an even smaller size (10% of a Full HD setup will still be 192x180, for example). NOTE: Anything wider than 250px or over 50Kb in size will be removed.

You can then upload these images to your server and use the following code to show them on the forum:

· Several websites offer free image hosting.

Use the "thumbnail for forums" link code that is supplied by the image host to post your thumbnail link.

· Once the new month begins please do not post new screenies in the old threads.

· If the screenshot has questionable material that might not be safe to view while at work or in a school setting, please post only a link and not a thumbnail, along with a mention of "Not Safe for Work". Posts that do not adhere to this are subject to deletion without notice at any time.

· Please try to include any links to your wallpaper or configs that you may have and/or the names of your icon theme, running apps, DE, etc. in the same post to reduce unnecessary clutter later.

* As a simple way to include information about your setup in the screenshot, you can use a tool like Archey, screenfetch or screenfo (all in AUR) to print out details about your window manager, font, shell etc., with a very attractive ASCII Arch logo...

Evil never looked so good. It's a netbook. DWM, statuscolors patch, urxvt. I made the wallpaper with gimp (thanks to duckshaft for the idea from last month's hilarious post). I added the icons by modifying the terminus 14 font. I renamed it terminusmod. I drew the icons using examples from Lokaltog, boohomil, and synorgy. Drawing the glyphs myself solved the spacing issue I had before. I used bdfedit to draw them. I use a status script for displaying system info with help from jasonwryan, Procyon, seiichiro0185, and others. Everything is in my configs. Which one? The terminal one is Profont (available in repos), everywhere else its Sans 7 Bold.

It's bmpanel2, with bmpanel2-themes package (both in AUR). The theme is Auriel Blue Smooth, I just changed the font inside config file to Sans 7 Bold. You configure the panel with bmpanel2cfg.

You'll need to change your terminal font to this to view the glyphs and to paste them and then you can change back to your normal terminal font afterwards. I didn't rename the font, I just copied it back to /usr/share/fonts/local after I edited it. It's the ter-114b.pcf.gz font. It's in my configs. I only made it in netbook size, 1024x600. I could try to make a different size if you want but it's pretty easy to do in gimp. BTW, if anyone could add a nice looking blood splotch or bloody fingerprint or something to it, that would be awesome. My gimp skills are amateurish.

edit: sorry, I had the wrong one in my configs. It's in there now. I made a couple variations of it. Also, I renamed the font to terminus2.
