When I start Arch it uses about 200MB. But Firefox likes to eat my mem, its currently using more than 500MB by itself and Rhythmbox is using almoust 200MB (I havent found any light alternative for Rhythmbox yet. sad)

When I used GNOME it could easly go up to 2-3GB RAM.

If you really want a light one you could go for mpd + ncmpcpp. I really love it. It works great, offcourse it's a terminal one not everyone likes terminal music players.

I have already tried ncmpcpp and a few other MPD clients. I really liked them all, but the basic support for playlists isnt good enough for me. sad

Are you using a bottom panel? If so what theme are you using? I love the minimal look of that desktop.

yes, i'm using a panel. the theme is bare naked, but i copied the icons over from gaia10.

Thanks for sharing. I think I like that bare naked panel with the glassified theme.

I have a dynamic IP address, it's already something different. smile

I'm behind a router anyway, and I don't use ssh, so I feel pretty safe. tongue

So what? How is his ip address any more valuable than a completely random ip address?
