Wierd gnome problem with latest update

I noticed something wierd with the latest gnome update I think. Normally when you create a new user and log in for the first time you get the default gnome configuration of a top panel with the menus and others ... and a bottom panel with the window list and pager. I have created many users and always get the same default configuration.

Now when I create a new user and log in for the first time I get a single blank panel ... I can populate it, but this is really a pain when I create another accound for someone at the school ... I had to create two accounts and manually add the bottom panel with the applets ... yes im sure I could just copy a template gnome configuration to skel ... but the default should already handle this.

Desperate, I did a complete re-install on one box. Same issue ... when a new user is created all you get is one single blank panel .. thats it. Has anyone else noticed this?

There is a gnome bug.  Check http://bugs.archlinux.org/?do=details&id=2513 for info and a script which is supposed (I haven't tried it) to solve the problem.

Okay thanks a lot for the update ... I was going to search through the bug lists when I got home from work today... looks like you just saved me some searching! I hope they fix it soon though.
