NM-Applet broke in Openbox after upgrading to Gnome3

It simply just wont run anymore, this also occurs in every other environment with the sole exception of Gnome-shell/3.

It acts like it is going to add itself to the panel, and then never displays anything at all, not even an icon.

Has anyone had similar issues?

Re: NM-Applet broke in Openbox after upgrading to Gnome3

i think that is a bug and needs to be reported on network manager bugtracker because nm-applet runs in two modes. it detects if gnome-shell running and in this case the icon is hidden and if is gnome-panel the icon is shown

don't forget to paste the link here so i can follow

Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.

Re: NM-Applet broke in Openbox after upgrading to Gnome3

Ok, big WTF here.

I setup another Arch install on a VM, install a few of the packages from my normal/main install, including NM-Applet

It doesnt work at first in Openbox, after rebooting it suddenly works just fine in Xfce4, and in Openbox.

Since I did not get the same issues as before, and since my other test install is completely unbootable, I cannot file a bug report on this. I'm not sure it warrents one.

The only difference is that on this install I did not install Openbox or anything else first, rather I installed Gnome3 first
