Gnome 3 - Volume Control Shortcuts Problem

Hey all,

I've been trying to figure this one out for a while...since G3 went into testing.  I have my volume control shortcuts mapped to Mod4+{F2,F3,F4} for Mute, Volume Down, and Volume Up respectively.  G3 just doesn't seem to pick up on it though...I don't really know if the Mod4 (that's the winkey for people not familiar with it) key is getting involved with the desktop functions and not sending the right signals or what...anyone have a suggestion on figuring this out?  I can map other keys just fine...just wondering if anyone else had problems using the Mod4 key with shortcuts.

Re: Gnome 3 - Volume Control Shortcuts Problem

Yeah, I've been using Xfce with Mod4 key binded (because the Fn key is dead under Linux) with other key in order to get my volume {up,down, muted} and also I`ve been using it for increasing/decreasing my screen brightness. Two days ago I installed Gnome 3 on my HP g62 laptop and I have the same issue with the Mod4 key so I just remapped my shortcuts to be used with the CTRL key for now.

I think it`s a bug in Gnome 3 & I also think that there was some other thread on the forums regarding this so you should check the search function.

Take Care

[EDIT]: I think it`s the same as https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=118202
