Trouble Installing Canon Pixma MP180

I can't figure out how to install the above printer/scanner.

The scanner works fine, but i can't figure out the printer side.

I have followed the Cups Wiki and installed all the drivers listed as recommended.

I have also blacklisted 'usblp' as recommended using Cups 1.4.x

Look at the Canon homepage, what driver is needed for you printer and then search for "cnijfilter" on the AUR. I'm positive you will find the suitable driver.

Re: Trouble Installing Canon Pixma MP180

Thank You for your reply.

I have looked at the Canon website, they only list drivers for Windows and Mac OS X. Moving on to the AUR i can see several Canon printer drivers when i search for 'cnijfilter' but none are for my model.

This printer worked fine on a Linux Mint install, i wonder if there is a way of finding out what driver was used in that distribution? ,

Re: Trouble Installing Canon Pixma MP180

Ok i found the driver name i need. 'bjc-MULTIPASS-MP180'

It is in the supported printers list on the Gutenprint website. I have made sure i have the latest version installed on my computer, so i should already have the drivers on my computer?

I opened up CUPS and logged in as root but i still don't have an option to add a USB printer.
