Boot process hangs 3 seconds on NET: registered protocol family 1

I'm using the lastest kernel from the repo (2.6.38.5), and when the system is booting it hangs for about 3 seconds in the line:

NET: Registered protocol family 1

Then it boots normally.

It's not much of a problem but, what is that anyway? Can i fix that behavior?

Thanks in advance.

What messages come after the three second delay? They might be more relevant.

Re: Boot process hangs 3 seconds on NET: registered protocol family 1

Same "things" on a 64 bits install (previously used 32 bits on same system without problems). Tried with two kernels: 26.38.2 and 2.6.38.6.

Here the dmesg:

[ 0.579613] NET: Registered protocol family 1
[ 12.240172] pci 0000:01:00.0: Boot video device
[ 12.240191] PCI: CLS 64 bytes, default 64
[ 12.240228] Unpacking initramfs...
[ 12.259176] Freeing initrd memory: 1752k freed

Help would be appreciated.
