Trackpad being detected as Logitech PS/2 Wheel Mouse by X and kernel

It's detected by the kernel and by X as Logitech PS/2 wheel mouse on my new Samsung NC110 netbook. I can only use it for basic clicking with the buttons, tapping for clicking, and moving the mouse. Multi-finger anything does not work. Synaptics does not work, nor does the module get loaded.

Good Morning.

Now, If you would, the output of grep input6 /var/log/messages.log

If it is blank, and if you have logrotate installed, ensure it did not rotate to messages.log.1

Ouch.  The kernel sees it as a mouse too.
Let me ponder

Re: Trackpad being detected as Logitech PS/2 Wheel Mouse by X and kernel

Should this be reported as a kernel bug? How would I do that?
