Gnome 3 Alsa / PulseAudio issue with flashplayer and vlc

When I watch a flashmovie and then turn on vlc to play a video file, vlc has no sound.
If I then close the tab which has the flashmovie running vlc instantly starts to play the correct sound. With vlc running I then have no sound in flash until closing vlc and restarting firefox.

/var/log/erros.log outputs the following:

localhost pulseaudio[2965]: alsa-sink.c: Error opening PCM device front:0: Device or resource busy

My audio device:

$ lspci | grep -i audio
00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) HD Audio Controller (rev 02)

Maybe someone can help
