It's sort of a weird problem: when I right click, say on a project, I can't select anything! It might be a Java problem but I don't know. I'm using Arch x86_64, and Netbeans 7.0.
Has anyone had a similar issue, or know how to fix this? It's very frustrating because I can't get anything done!
Thanks.

I have the exact same issue with netbeans and other java programs (jdownloader). I can select it if i move my mouse around a bit though. It's as if for input, the menu is moved to the bottom right of the actual place of the menu.
I'm using gnome3 (testing enabled), and have opensource ati drivers.
Edit:
Looks like we're not the only ones affected. Appears to be happening only on maximized windows and some report it works better with sun jre (I'm already using that one though so it doesn't fix it for me)

I wonder if it is related to X86_64 ... I have Netbeans 7.0 on Arch i686 and no problems whatsoever.
R.
edit: BTW I have Netbeans 7.0 in 4 machines (i686) and none of them have an issue.

I do have x86_64 indeed.

Interesting... I had openjdk6 but, thinking that WAS the problem switched to jre. I too have an ATI card and the opensource driver (catalyst sucks for dual monitors). Oh, and Gnome 3. Maybe that's the common denominator, Gnome 3. Thr link to thr Netbeans forum that Denacke gave also mentions gnome 3. I dont know... Any ideas?

I have the same problem in Gnome 3 : Netbeans menus behave weirdly. I have a Nvidia card and the proprietary driver. So the problem doesn't seem to be related to the graphic card (nor the driver).
Gnome 3 is probably involved.

Yup, x86-64, nVidia, NetBeans menus act funny. I can use them, but must move the mouse over to the right side of the menu. This also appears to only be when the window is MAXIMIZED.

Same problem. i686, gnome 3, nvidia proprietary driver. Problem only when maximized. On fullscreen menus are ok, but top panel covers netbeans...

Same problem with i686. While maximized AND when any part of the window is off the screen.

I had somehow the same problem; it was like NetBeans thought my mouse was about 50px to right of its actual position. I tried other LaFs for NetBeans and none of bundled ones worked. Long story short, TinyLaF solved my problem.
I wrote this small shell script wrapper around NetBeans executable:
/home/bahman/Programs/NetBeans/7.0/bin/netbeans --cp:p '/home/bahman/Work/Lib/TinyLaF/1.4.0/tinylaf.jar' --laf de.muntjak.tinylookandfeel.TinyLookAndFeel
And to solve crashes related to passwords this thread did the trick.

That doesn't help for me. I see the new Look and Feel but the mouse is still out of sync with the menu.
Oh, and this is on Gnome 3, x64, Netbeans 7.01 and JDK 1.6.0_26

Yes...I noticed that it gets out of sync frequently. I found the solution; it's a bit funny but it works even with Gtk/Nimubs/Metal looks.
Unmaximise NetBeans window, move it (top left corner of window) to the top left corner of the screen then maximise the window. That's it.
