It is a Samsung R519 laptop with x4500m video card.
Previously the Fn+Brightness keys didn't work at all, now with the latest 2.6.38.6 kernel they worked for like a second, then the screen starts flickering and the whole system became unresponsive. However, the brightness did lower down a little bit.
I have to restart my laptop every time I try to change the brightness.
The good thing with this kernel is, that together with samsung-tools from AUR, the fan control now works! I can now make it silent and energy-saving when I don't need any heavy tasks to run.
