Howdie,
I had to twice change my wifes PCs grafic card. Her old nvidia was broke, temporarily I put an ATI in instead (which did not like it's driver very much and so did nothing in the veins of WoW or Lord of the Rings online). Now I put a GT8400 in, which of course works great, being an nvidia and all..... But: Her PC does not run anything 3D on wine anymore. Lotro claims that Dx9 is not installed (which, just for the heck, I just reinstalled through winetricks) and WoW says it can not find a suitable grafics device to start....
I am pretty stumped, so who could point me in the right direction here?

Aaaaaand what driver did you install? I don't think nouveau has 3D support. nvidia on the other hand should be fine, but I'm not a wine guru.

Thanks for trying anyway
I figured it out this very minute. When I un-installed the nvidia-package when putting the ati-card in I must have de-installed a few related lib32 packages (with this being a 64bit system) and among them lib32-nvidia-utils. Unfortunately the mention of said packed in the nvidia entry in the wiki was too small for me to notice, luckily I found it mentioned in the wine-page eventually.
This work just fine now, thank you ![]()
