I will like to try enlightenment but duribg my first attempt there was conflict with xmms so i had to remove it and also i couldn't start it with the following like "exec enlightenment" in .xinitrc. Are there any potential problems i should watch out for?

E17 is still in development. It has a reason to be slightly buggy.

After installing it you have to use 'source /etc/profile'. This is not a bug.

I just used a login manager, kdm usually, that sorted out e17.
Tho, as far as I can see, there's nothing really worth using as far as e17 goes is there? Few modules, lots of bugs, no configuration utilities...

e17 is still heavily getting worked on. It's more or less preview version to see what's on the table when it gets released. It's pretty nifty even as a preview though.

What package conflicts with XMMS? I have no problems of that sort.
As for the .desktop file for *dm, I haven't tested it, as I use E's login manager Entrance. I just copied the E16 one changing the path of the executable. What kind of issues do you have with it?
Please, report me all the bugs which might not depend on E's source code!
A *UR update: I'm not happy about putting cvs packages into [community] AUR. I will probably continue maintaining the cvs stuff inside an unofficial repository, and upload on the AUR system the Asparagus preview releases from http://enlightenment.freedesktop.org, trying to keep the compatibility among previews and cvs snapshots.
Oh, and today is my first Arch anniversary - I installed Widget on 2004/04/24

It says something about xmms2 conflicting with xmms.

Then I suppose you are using Nickm's packages, not mine... he has xmms2 (dependency for euphoria) in his repo...

Hi,
I installed e17 from here:
[rensel]
Server = ftp://ftp.archlinux.org/tur/rensel
Now, I want to remove e17, so I pacman -R e17.
E17 was using "imlib2-cvs" and I cant remove it because some dependencies with others files. How can I force pacman to install "imlib2" version (1.2.0-2) instead "imlib2-cvs"?
Thanks
