Hi all, I've decided to switch from DE-less xmonad to xmonad and gnome. I installed Gnome and followed the instructions on these pages: here and here. If I choose Xmonad from the sessions list, I get the default background with no panels for a few seconds. After that, a message pops up that says "an error occurred, please log out" (pretty damn vague). I don't have this problem if I use mutter/gnome-shell.
~/.xsession-errors:
/etc/gdm/Xsession: Beginning session setup...
Failure: Module initalization failed
/etc/gdm/Xsession: Setup done, will execute: /usr/bin/ssh-agent -- gnome-session --session=xmonad

EDIT: Any suggestions for a better/more descriptive thread title?

Use gnomeConfig from XMonad.Config.Gnome as your base config. (Or just reuse the startupHook from that config, to register with dbus)
