Hi all, new Arch user here. I've tried working through the Acpid and Pm-utils wiki articles, but it's all just too confusing. I installed both the programs, and when I run either pm-suspend or pm-hibernate as root, All I get is my screen goes black. I press keys, open close the lid, but it just doesn't do anything, and power remains on when testing pm-hibernate. The only way out of it is to hard-reboot the laptop.
I am not sure where to start with all this. Here is my log from running pm-suspend:

I applied the fix as described on the site, and suspend works! Sadly, hibernate does not. It still does not power down

I was so happy for the successful suspend and I didn't check the hibernation or reboot.
I read your post and I checked it at once.
Fortunately, everything works fine.
I applied the fix as described on the site, and suspend works! Sadly, hibernate does not. It still does not power down
