Faster forum..

I wonder if adding php-eaccelerator would reduce forum page load times by caching the php code. I know it has made a considerable impact on my benchmark testing results..

here
In both cases it sped things up. Note that while the phpinfo page request appears to be a tad slower, the number of failed requests is less. Something with ab (apache bench) not counting requests that timed out color the requests/second status when failed attempts are present, so keep that in mind when viewing the two results for phpinfo.

Also note that these two files (hello.php and phpinfo.php) do not contain much code to cache. About one line to be exact, in both cases. Pages with considerably more php code will show more of a speed increase..

might be something to try at least, if it is not already..

EDIT: More results here

I put a PKGBUILD for it in AUR, and it is in my repo too.
