My KDE desktop feels awkwardly out of place in this thread.
KDE. Icons are called "Hycons". Wallpaper is the default gnome-shell wallpaper. The taskbar is SmoothTasks on a transparent panel. The whole KDE theme is a frankenstein's monster of other themes.

Just migrated back to Arch after 1 month of ubuntu (still kinda like the wallpaer^^). Result: 1/2 of the boot time, cpu 10° less, smile on my face.
- openbox
- awn
- conky (cpu/mem/battery/fs)
- dock-icons; token and awoken
beeing satisfied with one's desktop at 5 am: priceless.

In the System Settings you can change the details of the Desktop Theme. You can replace some parts of the theme. I replaced the SVG picture for the panel with a transparent one. I made it transparent by taking any panel pic from any theme and increasing (or decreasing?) the alpha using Inkscape.

.. stuff ..
zsh configured with OMZ and zsh-syntax-highlighting and zsh-history-substring-search
Ah, finally, similar Fish-style highlighting for ZSH! sunaku, I'm really liking this "zsh-syntax-highlighting" but you may want to add 'setopt localoptions nowarncreateglobal' to '_zsh_highlight-zle-buffer()' and '_zsh_main-highlight()' to avoid warning messages if the $USER has that option enabled at login (which I do). Anyway, thank you very much for this. I changed some colors after sourcing in my .zshrc and it looks fantastic. Only thing is I can't really figure out how to change the color of double quotes; they always show up yellow. Ideas? Perhaps I haven't searched hard enough..

Yup, it's totally awesome. That plus the history-substring-search plugin allowed me to completely move away from Fish to ZSH for good.

I'm glad you like it. The thanks should really go to Julien Nicoulaud, the author of that plugin. And would you mind posting your global warnings suggestion as a bug report?

All styles are defined in the ZSH_HIGHLIGHT_STYLES array, so for example, you would put the following in your zshrc after loading the highlighting plugin to make double quoted strings appear in red:
ZSH_HIGHLIGHT_STYLES[double-quoted-argument]='fg=red'
Cheers.
