VGA-Switcharoo and Xorg

Hello, all.
So I have two graphics cards, one intel, and one ati.
The output of lspci | grep vga is

00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Core Processor Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 02)
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc Redwood [Radeon HD 5600 Series] (rev ff)

When I start the system and load the "radeon" module and read the cards' status from /sys/kernel/debug/switcharoo/switch, I get:

0:IGD:+:Pwr:0000:00:02.0
1:DIS: :Pwr:0000:01:00.0

Which means both devices have power and the Intel is triggered, right? However, upon starting Xorg, the Intel performs MUCH better than the ATI, as if they were reversed. Not that I have a problem with high performance :3, but I'm those kinds of people who like to know the status of everything.
*The Main Problem*->Furthermore, whenever I attempt to switch cards or deactivate one or the other, Xorg will not start after I make the changes (yes, I am running changes as root then switching to normal user to startx)
Someone please help, I've been working towards a desktop/workstation-ready Arch install for several months now, and this is the last roadblocker smile
