[solved] poweroff eth0 at boot

hi to all

because a lightning have run into my ethernet cable killing my pc-ethernet and router ......

i must connect my pc through usb (fortunately my router have this feature).... nothing problem, arch recognize it instantly and it works as well ....aaaaahhhh linux-power

now my question is: how can i disable / poweroff / exclude ethernet from my system ?

Maybe I misunderstood, but didn't the lightning already "disable" your ethernet?

Anyway, if you don't want eth0, just don't load the driver for your NIC.

yes, but the led is always green and if i plug in a cable networkmanager says me: "unplugged cable" ..... it can't see anything now.....

so i could blacklist the ethernet module in rc.conf , right ?

i was thinking about a

ifconfig eth0 down

or similar......

Put ifconfig eth0 down in your /etc/rc.local
